We make whiskey meant to be more than tasted – it’s meant to start a story worth telling.

Seekers is where that idea comes to life.

Sometimes we go looking and find a whiskey that already has everything it needs. We leave it alone. Other times, we step in and push it somewhere more complete.

Finishing is part of that, but only when it adds something worthy. We’re drawn to woods and barrels that bring a different perspective – less common, more expressive, capable of revealing something the whiskey was already reaching for.

Mizunara Finish

The first expression of this approach is a 6YO bourbon (60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barely) with the structure to carry something unique and exotic, like Mizunara oak.

Mizunara is a rare Japanese oak, only harvested after at least 200 years, known for its aromatic lift and layered character. After finishing for 6 months it brings a different kind of depth, soft wood, subtle sweetness, and a spice that unfolds over time. (55% alc/vol, 110 proof)

Here, it adds dimension and movement while staying true to the character of the whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel and brown sugar with orange peel brightness, moving into sandalwood and a hint of incense.

Palate: Sweet corn, clove-driven rye spice, and warm baking notes. Mizunara comes through mid-palate with dry timber, subtle coconut, and a controlled oak that keeps the sweetness in check.

Finish: Medium-long and drying. Rye spice, cracked pepper, and a clean fade of vanilla and baking spice.

“This is one of those whiskeys that just kept revealing itself. The Mizunara doesn’t sit on top of the bourbon, it works its way into it. You get that lift on the nose, then the structure comes in, and by the finish it feels completely resolved. It’s balanced, but it’s not static. It keeps moving, and that’s what makes it interesting to me.”
